Our Mission

We are kids – inspired by family and friends affected by cancer – who provide comfort and warmth to cancer patients one blanket at at time.

Our Story

We are lifelong friends who realize the importance of giving back to our community. We are bonded by similar stories of loved ones struggling with cancer and have created Blankets of Love with the hopes of spreading good will to those in need of comfort and support. We realize having cancer puts patients in a place that can be isolating and lonely. A small gesture of kindness can truly make a difference in their lives.

Lily Guari

Lily is one of the founders of Blankets of Love. From a young age Lily has seen what effects cancer has on families. Her mother is a survivor of Leukemia and her grandmother suffered from Lung Cancer.  During those times Lily remembers the comfort that a simple blanket could give someone who feels the need for love and comfort during a difficult time. She feels the blankets are the best gift you can give. Lily is a student at Oxbridge Academy. Learning to give back to her community has become a pivotal foundation in her life. In Lily’s extra time she enjoys being with her family and friends. She loves to play sports and her favorite subjects in school are Science and Math.

Mercedes and Johnny Cassidy

Mercedes and Johnny’s lives were forever changed when their loving grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer and a close family friend was diagnosed with brain cancer. Trying to comfort them as much as they could, they gave them each a cozy blanket to keep comfortable and warm while undergoing treatments. “We witnessed how the gift of a blanket brought them comfort and provided them with warmth and love.” Mercedes and Johnny established Blankets of Love with their best friend, Lily Guari. “Our goal is to touch the lives of those battling cancer, one blanket at a time.” Mercedes is currently a student at Jupiter High School and Johnny attends The Greene School in West Palm Beach, Florida.
